The Nepal Mountain Academy has achieved a noteworthy milestone in its endeavour to establish a Master of Science program in Mountain and Mountaineering Science (M.Sc. MMS) at the academy after a rigorous and fruitful journey.
The Master of Science in Mountain and Mountaineering Science (M.Sc. MMS) program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Honorable Minister Sudan Kirarti of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, at a ceremony presided over by Mr. Ungdi Tshiring Sherpa, President of the Nepal Mountain Academy. The event was attended by special guests, including Prof. Dr. Shiva LalBhusal, the acting Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, and Mr. Bhuddhi SagarLamichhane, the Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, as well as professors, senior officials, mountaineering professionals, institutions, media personnel, and students.
During the ceremony, the Honorable Minister inaugurated the official website of the upcoming International Conference on Mountaineering and Mountain Science (ICMMS), scheduled to take place from November 1-3, 2023 (Kartik 15-17, 2080) in Kathmandu.
The academy expresses sincere gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty members, media persons, students, and everyone associated with this program. A very special thanks to Ms. Lhakpa Phuti Sherpa (Former President of NMA), Mr. Romnath Gyawali (Former Executive Director and Campus Chief of NMA), and Mr. Uttam Babu Bhattarai (Director of NMA) for their guidance and leadership in initiating this program.
