Certificate distribution program was successfully held at NTB on 27 July 2023. The program was held in presence of Nr. Sudan Kirati (Minister, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mr. Sudan Kirati, Mr. Arjun Rai (Executive Director of Nepal Mountain Academy), Mr. Shiva Adhikari (President of NARA), Mr. Mani Lamichhane (Director of Nepal Tourism Board), Kalpana Sarkar (Portfolio Manager of UNDP), Mr. Himal Pandit (Administrative Officer & Information Officer of Nepal Mountain Academy) and officials representing their respective organization.
Total 23 trainees were awarded with the Trekking Guide Certificate who successfully completed their Trekking Guide Training Course jointly organized by Nepal Mountain Academy and Sustainable Tourism for Livelyhood Recovery Project: joint initation of Nepal Tourism Board and UNDP Nepal for the LGBTIQ+ community only from 7 April 2023 to 10 June 2023.
Minister Sudan Kirati highlited the importance of this program as a potent message to society during the certificate distribution ceremony.He emphasized the need of giving all members of society equal employment opportunities and expressed optimism that the training will make it possible for LGBTIQ+ people to work in the tourism industry and start their own businesses.
Also, the book "Resource Book for RIVER RAFTING" was officially launched during the event.
